Russian Cats
Russians are an easy going laid back and loving cat that is devoted to it’s
owner. They are one of the least destructive cat breeds and shed very little. Russian
cats are regal, elegant and silky soft.
They are well suited to life indoors and make a fantastic flat or town house
cat.
They
are thought to originate in the port & Islands of Arckangelsk (Archangel) in North
Russia, on the Dvina River. The town grew up around the monastery of Archangel
Michael. The cats survived in cold Arctic weather. Trading
links were set up between Russia & Britain, which resulted in cats traveling
abroad by ship. They were called Archangel cats, & foreign blue
cats.
Colour
Coat:
Blue, crystal white, or shiny black. Blue is the most common colour. Black &
white is scarce. The tip of each hair is clear, giving the
coat a shine. One can draw a pattern in the coat.

| Arckangelsk,
where the cats originated, is named after Archangel Michael, a powerful
being with angels under him. Be careful when listening to stories about
Michael, as the Bible does not document much about him. He is mentioned in
Daniel 12, 1; Jude 1, 9; & Revelation 12, 7. Be particularly careful
of people claiming to have "messages" from Michael. Those
messages are more likely to be from a familiar spirit who is posing as an
angel. The Daniel 12 passage is about the end of the world, when the
Archangel Michael will rise up and there will be unprecedented trouble.
Michael is not to be messed with! |
