Welcome to Alrewas Russian Black Terriers situated in Cape Town, South Africa.

We specialize in breeding and showing top quality RBT’s. We endeavour to produce puppies of a high standard with excellent temperament, trainability and show abilities. All puppies are born in the home where they have 24\7 vigilance until they are weaned. The puppies are well socialized as they grow up in a family environment. The adult dogs have been x-rayed for Hip and Elbow dysplasia. All prospective owners will be screened.

The RBT is one of the youngest breeds in the world and so successful has its short history been that its popularity has earned it the name “The Black Pearl of Russia.” Apart from the breed's striking good looks, the RBT has remarkable working abilities coupled with strength, courage and a good temperament. As they are a large breed early socializing and training is essential.

As a pet the RBT is wonderfully devoted to his human family, needing close human contact, they are best suited to a “household” environment. They are very adaptable and intelligent so therefore are easily trained. These dogs just love regular long walks. The RBT falls under the Working Group in Breed Showing.

The legal stuff

Puppies will be registered with KUSA, Vet checked, inoculated, micro-chipped and dewormed. They will go home with their own Vet book. There will be breeding restriction on all puppies. Puppies can be flown to any major airport in South Africa at the purchaser’s expense.

The Kennel name “Alrewas” is registered with KUSA.
