Every
now and then we have beautiful KUSA registered Basset Hound puppies for sale.
At the moment we breed with one female only, so puppies are only
available occasionally. Mom will
be our Lilly, very loving and affectionate and full of mischievous plans.
Dad will be a stud that we personally select from another breeder. Our
animals are our children. Our
family also includes Rupert, our neutered basset male.
He loves playing with the puppies and protects them as his own.
We also have a spayed basset female, Fiela, who, although small in
physical size, has a very big personality.
She teaches the pups all the naughty things…
Then there’s our cat, Princess Mia Meraai, who rules the entire
household. And we have just added
a new member to the family, our baby basset girl, Gabija.
We
are located in Somerset West, Western Cape, South Africa (close to Cape Town),
but travel arrangements for flights to other locations can be made.
These would be for the new owner’s account.
Puppies can also be transported to other neighboring countries. We
breed for the love of the basset hound breed.
Our dogs live with us in our house and the puppies are raised
accordingly. The pups grow up
with our other animals in and around our home.
They are played and interacted with on a daily basis, with each one
receiving individual attention and enough exercise.
By the time that they leave for their new homes, at the age of seven to
eight weeks, they are emotionally mature and well socialized. Bassets
are clever dogs. Their droopy
eyes and long ears make them hard to resist.
They are loving and devoted and adore children.
They make perfect family pets! Bassets
do require sufficient space to live in, enough exercise and lots of attention.
They are curious dogs and they love to go for walks.
Our dogs are active and lively. The adults weigh about 25kg. For
any further information, more pictures, references from owners who bought
puppies from previous litters, bookings or to come and meet the family, please

The
legal stuff
Our
puppies are registered with KUSA (Kennel Union of Southern Africa). We give a
signed KUSA registration certificate to the new owners. We do put breeding
restrictions for a period of two years on the papers.
After two years the new owners can apply for the restrictions to be
lifted. This is done to ensure
that dogs are not bred with at too early an age. Puppies will be
dewormed, inoculated and micro-chipped with a vet check-up and booklet.
Once
you have had a basset hound you will never have another breed again, you will
be “bassefied”!
